After five successful years, Village Africa needs to reshape itself in response to the financial climate.
The recession, inflation and a sharp increase in volunteer permit fees have impacted on Village Africa’s income.
Sadly, Village Africa has made a number of redundancies.
To protect the core services, Village Africa has launched a Match a Job scheme.

Village Africa still wishes to employ
- Nurses, Ambulance Drivers, Builders, Carpenters, Managers, Watchmen and Cooks.
The average wage is £40 a month so we are asking supporters to ‘Match a Job’ at £20 a month. To join the scheme, please set up a VA Donation Form to Village Africa’s UK bank account or complete the form below and then donate online using Paypal.
If you are only able to help for a limited period (eg 3, 6 or 12 months) that would also be very helpful too.
In its first five years, Village Africa has:
- helped half the death rate in Yamba and Milingano
- run a health post 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- helped the ward become third out of forty-four in the 2011 mock national primary school exams (previously the ward was last!)
- built eight school classrooms and twenty-five school toilets
- sponsored more than eighty children.
Village Africa held five year reviews with the villagers. After the consultation, Village Africa has decided to prioritise the following services to help the most vulnerable in a very remote setting.
- Ambulance service
- Health Post
- Primary School Child Sponsorship Scheme.
Village Africa will do this if funds permit. Village Africa is working hard to find the money needed. Please help if you can.
